The bar chart shows the top ten date-producing countries in tonnes on 2001.
Egypt was the highest date producing in 2001 and produced about one million and one hundred thousand of dates which was about two hundred and fifty thousand tonnes more than. Iran produced about 800,000 tonnes. Following them came the UAE and Saudi Arabia, rivaling each other with about 740,000 tonnes each. Iraq and Pakistan were not too far from the top four producers with outputs of approximately 630,000. Algeria supplied the world with nearly 400,000 tonnes. The lowest three countries in producing dates were Oman with about 250,000 tonnes, Sudan with nearly 200,000 tonnes and Libya with approximately 150,000 tonnes.
Overall, Egypt and Iran account for the majority of goods with about 2,000,000 tonnes of dates whilst Sudan and Libya are in the minority.
